Benefits of Robotic Surgery for Gynecology

Minimally invasive surgical procedures viz a viz#laparoscopy, robotic and #vaginal surgeries are less traumatic than open procedures. Laparoscopy allows observation of the surgical field through an endoscope or similar device and is carried out through small incisions in the skin to allow access into the pelvis or abdomen.

For most patients, robotic surgery can offer numerous potential benefits over traditional approaches to vaginal, laparoscopic or open abdominal #hysterectomy, particularly when performing more challenging procedures like radical hysterectomy for #gynecologic cancer for pelvic organ #prolapse.

Some Major Signs & Symptoms that indicate epithelial Ovarian Cancer

Some Major Signs & Symptoms that indicate epithelial Ovarian Cancer

Epithelial Ovarian Cancer is a condition in which malignant tumor emerges from the tissue lining in the outer surface of the ovary. Epithelial tumors are usually benign, but this form of malignancy has been found to be the most common type of ovarian cancer. Moreover, it cannot be diagnosed until in its advanced stage. Medical research shows that factors such as multiple pregnancies, delayed childbirth and early menarche seem to raise the risk of ovarian cancer, while dietary and environmental factors also play a significant role in it.

Why should i get the HPV vaccine?

Why should i get the HPV vaccine?
Having the HPV vaccine means you're far less likely to have genital warts, certain types of cancer or other illnesses caused by HPV in the future. The vaccine helps to protect against cervical cancer and some less common cancers, such as penile, vaginal, vulval and throat cancers caused by HPV. It also protects against genital warts.

Trophoblast is a part of the placenta so gestational tropblastic neoplasia follows abortion, delivery or molar pregnancy. There are many forms of gestational trophoblastic disease.
Types:
1) molar pregnancy
2) Invasive moles

These tumors sometimes behave as cancer and they are categorised in stages. Most of these neoplasms are treated by chemotherapy.

Vaginal Discharge- What is normal and what is not
Vaginal discharge serves an important housekeeping function in the female reproductive system. Vaginal discharge keeps the vagina moist and acidic which helps in preventing infections.
Most of the time, vaginal discharge is perfectly normal. The amount can vary, as can odour and colour (which can range from clear to white-ish mucoid), depending on the time in your menstrual cycle. However, if the colour, smell, or consistency seems quite different than usual, especially if you also have vaginal itching or burning, you could be dealing with an infection or other condition.
What causes abnormal discharge?
Any change in the vagina's balance of normal bacteria can affect the smell, colour, or discharge texture. These are a few of the things that can upset that balance:
1) Antibiotic or steroid use
2) Bacterial vaginosis, a bacterial infection more common in pregnant women or women who have multiple sexual partners
3) Birth control pills
4) Cervical cancer
5) Chlamydia or gonorrhoea (STDs), sexually transmitted infections
6) Diabetes
7) Douches, scented soaps or lotions, bubble bath
8) Pelvic infection after surgery
9) Pelvic inflammatory disease (PID)
10)Trichomoniasis, a parasitic infection typically contracted and caused by having unprotected sex
11) Vaginal atrophy, the thinning and drying out of the vaginal walls during menopause
12) Vaginitis, irritation in or around the vagina
13) Yeast infections
